04 First-Party and Third-Party Cookies

First-Party Cookies

First-party cookies are set directly through the Clario website.

They may be used for functions such as:

  • Security;
  • Consent management;
  • Website operation; and
  • Remembering preferences.

Third-Party Cookies
Third-party cookies or similar technologies are provided by another organisation whose service appears on, or supports, our website.

Examples may include:

  • Website analytics;

  • Website hosting; and
  • Other external website tools.

Those providers may receive information about your device, browser, IP address and interaction with the relevant feature.

The specific providers used by the website are identified in the cookie table below (section 06) and through our cookie management tool.

Strictly Necessary Cookies

These technologies are required for the website or a service you request to operate properly.

They may be used to:

  • Deliver pages and website functions;
  • Maintain security;
  • Prevent fraud or misuse;
  • Manage network traffic;
  • Remember your cookie choices; or
  • Enable a feature you have specifically requested.

We do not ask for consent where the use is covered by a valid legal exception.

Blocking these technologies through your browser may cause parts of the website to stop working.

Preference and Functionality Cookies

These technologies allow the website the remember choices or adapt its apperance or functionality.

They might remember:

  • Display preferences;
  • Accessibility settings;
  • Language choices;
  • Media settings; or
  • Previously selected options.

Depending on how they are configured and used, we may rely on consent or an applicable legal exception.

Where an exception is used, we will provide clear information and an easy way to object.

Analytics and Performance Cookies

These technologies help us understand how people use the website.

They may collect information such as:

  • Pages viewed;
  • Referring pages;
  • Visit duration;
  • Clicks and interactions;
  • Scrolling activity;
  • Browser and device details;
  • Approximate location;
  • Timestamps; and
  • Technical performance information.

We use this information to:

  • Understand website traffic;
  • Identify popular or underperforming content;
  • Find technical issues;
  • Improve navigation; and
  • Develop the website and our services.

We use analytics without consent only where the technology and processing meet all the requirements of an applicable statistical-purpose exception.

This generally means the information must be used solely to produce statistics for improving the website, appropriately limited and aggregated, not used to profile individuals, and accompanied by clear information and an easy way to object.

Where those requirements are not met, analytics technologies will remain disabled until you consent.

Marketing and Tracking Technologies
These technologies may be used to:

  • Follow activity across websites or services;
  • Build an audience or interest profile;
  • Measure advertising effectiveness;
  • Retarget visitors;
  • Personalise advertising; or
  • Link website activity with an account on another service.

We will not use marketing or behavioural-tracking technologies unless you have given consent.

At the date of publication, Clario can confirm that no such technologies are active and this section is marked as inactive.

Embedded Content and Social Media Technologies

  • Videos;
  • Maps;
  • Social media posts;
  • Sharing features;
  • Animations;
  • Feeds; or
  • Other interactive content.

06 Cookies and Services Currently Used

The following table provides a current technical cookie audit.

07 Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use our website and help us improve its content, performance and user experience.

GA4 may collect information about your interaction with the website including:

  • Pages viewed;
  • Links and buttons selected;
  • Referring pages;
  • Approximate geographic location;
  • Browser, device and operating-system information;
  • Visit dates, times and duration;
  • Session activity; and
  • Technical information about how the website performs.

Google Analytics may receive your IP address when analytics information is transmitted. For visitors in the UK, European Union and Switzerland, Google states that IP addresses are used to derive coarse location information and are discarded before the information is logged or stored.

We use the information available through GA4 to produce reports and aggregated statistics about matters such as:

  • The number of people visiting the website;
  • How visitors arrive at the website;
  • Which pages and content are most frequently viewed;
  • How visitors move through the website;
  • Whether visitors encounter technical or usability issues; and
  • How we could improve the website and our services.

We do not use GA4 reports to identify visitors directly. You can withdraw or change your consent at anytime. Withdrawing consent will prevent GA4 from collecting information through optional analytics technologies on future visits from that browser or device. It will not affect processing that took place before consent was withdrawn.

Google acts as a provider of the analytics service and may process information on servers outside of the United Kingdom. Any international transfer of personal information will be handled using appropriate contractual and legal safeguards, as explained in our Privacy Statement.

Further information about Google’s handing of analytics information and its privacy conditions is available through Google’s Analytics privacy documentation.

08 Fonts and Website Assets

Our website may obtain fonts, scripts, images or other assets from Clario’s own website server or from an external provider.

When an asset is loaded from a third party, that provider may receive technical information such as:

  • Your IP address;
  • Browser and device details;
  • The webpage requesting the asset; and
  • The data and time of the request.

When you first visit the website, our cookie mechanism should allow to yo:

  • Accept optional technologies;
  • Reject optional technologies;
  • Select individual categories; and
  • Access clear information about their purpose and providers.

Optional technologies requiring consent will not be activated until you make a positive choice.

10 Changing or Withdrawing your Choices

You can change your cookie choices at anytime. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing that took place before withdrawl.

Changing a preference will normally stop future use of that affected technology. It may not automatically remove information already held by a third-party provider, although you may have separate rights concerning personal information.

11 Objecting where we rely on an Exception

Current UK rules provide specific exceptions for certain storage and access technologies. Where Clario relies on the statistical-purpose or appearance-and-functionality exception, you will be given an easy way to object.

If you object, the relevant exempt technology should cease operating for your device, except where another valid exception or requirement applies.

12 Browser Controls

Most browsers allow you to:

  • View stored cookies;
  • Delete cookies;
  • Block all or selected cookies;
  • Block third-party cookies;
  • Clear cookies when the browser closes; or
  • Receive a warning before a cookie is stored.

Browser controls are separate from Clario’s cookie settings.

Blocking all cookies may affect strictly necessary functions and could prevent parts of the website from operating correctly.

Private or incognito browsing may reduce local storage or browsing history or cookies after a session, but it does not necessarily prevent information from being shared with website or third parties during the session.

13 Personal Information and your Rights

Some cookies and similar technologies process your personal information, such as:

  • An IP address;
  • Online identifiers;
  • Device details;
  • Browsing activity; or
  • Information connected with an online account.

Our Privacy Statement explains:

  • Why we process personal information;
  • Our lawful basis;
  • Who receives it;
  • International transfers;
  • Retention;
  • Security; and
  • Your data-protection rights.

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the rights to:

  • Access your personal information;
  • Correct inaccurate information;
  • Request erasure;
  • Restrict processing;
  • Object to processing;
  • Receive certain information in a portable format; and
  • Withdraw consent.

These rights are not absolute and legal conditions or exemptions may apply.

To exercise a right, contact: hello@clariocreative.co.uk

14 International Transfers

Some third-party website providers may store or access information outside of the United Kingdom.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, we will use an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism and safeguards, as explained in our Privacy Statement.

  • A technical audit identifies additional technologies.

The current version will be published on our website with its latest revision date.
